Role Description
Arrivant is in need of a FX Artist looking for a place and community where you can make a real impact. You will be responsible for defining and implementing Original FX in Star Garden. You will be involved in the day-to-day production. You will have the responsibility to collaborate with other all disciplines in defining/adjusting the look and feel of FX used in game and creatively solve production issues as they arise. You will be working on an Arrivant’s tentpole project within an experienced team of people who have a passion for creating games and worlds. The ideal candidate should have a strong history of shipping quality products that engage and delight their users.
  • Partner closely with Art Director, Animators, and Game Designers to ensure all effects satisfy design and art requirements
  • You will produce look tests based to enhance the art direction and ensure industry leading quality and artistic fidelity
  • You will be a leading voice for all FX work needed and assist with necessary implementation within other disciplines.
  • Build and test what's possible in a game engine while working within production deadlines to complete all tasks


  • Demonstrate a strong eye for timing, weight, realism, color, volume, energy and other particle aesthetics
  • Ability to build realistic and fantasy based FX as needed
  • Experience with VFX software – 3ds Max, Maya, Houdini, etc
  • Display modeling, texturing, and animation experience
  • 5+ years of production experience in video games
  • Exhibit strong technical and communication skills with the ability to provide FX within Unreal 5
  • Good knowledge of the games industry and a keen gamer.
  • The ability to work independently and a high degree of individual initiative and commitment.
  • Self-motivated and a real passion for video games.
  • Shipped at least two-quality games over the full development cycle as FX Artist.
