Role Description
Arrivant is in need of a Character Artist looking for a place and community where you can make a real impact. Along with the Art Director’s vision, you will be responsible for defining the look for a great cast of characters and be actively involved in day-to-day art production. The chosen character artist will be defining characters for gameplay and cinematic animated sequences. You will collaborate with other disciplines to set quality standards for the game using in-depth knowledge of techniques and technical approaches. You will be working on Arrivant’s tentpole project within an experienced team of people who have a passion for creating games and worlds. The ideal candidate should have a strong history demonstrating an exceptional eye for detail, creative flair, and a drive for excellence.
Responsibilities
  • Close collaboration with creative direction, animators, and design
  • Create and maintain the artistic direction, mood, and high quality of the characters
  • Establish and own the character art pipeline, including things like modular character setups
  • High and low poly modeling with efficient mesh creation
  • Texture creation
  • Working with internal production and outsource providers for the delivery of character art
requirements
  • 5+ years of a proven AA/AAA track record in the games industry
  • Expert 3D modeling and texturing, organic and hard surfaces
  • Understanding of anatomy, proportions, mechanics, and characterization
  • Solid understanding of character pipelines, memory management of materials, and efficient use of resources
  • Solid character design skills with a keen interest in designing memorable characters
